Locomotive 463 Update June 2012  Monday, 25 June 2012 12:33 As a result of discussion with Commission members and after review of an assessment performed by American Heritage Railway personnel, the Friends Board has determined that Locomotive 463’s rebuild will most likely be completed over the upcoming off-season. It was hoped that the project, which is in its final assembly phase, could have been finished yet during the operating season. Although there is a chance the completion could yet occur it doesn’t appear there is the mechanical personnel available to dedicate the time required that would make that a reality. The organization apologizes for this event and will be refunding all those who had held reservations on the cancelled May 15, 2012 charter. The Friends will be working with AHR and the Commission on a plan that will enable the 463 Project to be completed. We continue to appreciate the support that has been provided by so many. |
