For over 15 years the Friends has worked to preserve this national treasure. We are a diverse group of highly committed men and women from many walks of life, all with a shared vision and the tenacity to fulfill it. Our mission is a simple but challenging one: to preserve the C&TS as a dynamic, living museum for those who follow.

Our nearly 2,000 members come from across America, as well as from Canada and overseas. Some are rail enthusiasts, some are history buffs, and others are people who have fallen in love with the jewel that is the railroad. While many members participate directly in our activities, most simply support our work through the crucial financial investment that their membership provides.

As a member, you’ll help to preserve this piece of the American heritage, and know the honor and fulfillment of sharing in that legacy. As a “shareholder” you’ll neither accrue monetary dividends nor build any equity other than that of your own heart. Yet, the return on your investment will surely enrich your life. And the adventure you’ll have along the way is one you’ll never forget.

You can also make a donation to the Friends general fund, or to one of our restricted funds that set aside money for specific purposes.
